Founded in 2021, Maraog Dairy is more than just a farm; it is a movement to restore the purity of the Himalayan diet. Located in the high-altitude heart of Chopal, Himachal Pradesh, we bridge the gap between ancient Vedic wisdom and the modern need for clean, organic nutrition.

Our Roots in Chopal

Our journey began with a simple observation: the milk from the indigenous cows of our mountains tasted different—richer, creamier, and more vital. We realized that the secret wasn't in a formula, but in the freedom of the animals and the purity of the soil.

Today, Maraog Dairy stands as a sanctuary for the Indigenous Pahari Cow, a breed that has thrived in the Himalayas for centuries but is now becoming a rarity.

The Free-Grazing Philosophy

We believe that a cow’s well-being is directly reflected in the quality of her milk. Unlike industrial dairies that keep cattle in confined spaces, our cows are Free-Grazing Pioneers.

  • Natural Foraging: Every morning, our herd wanders into the lush alpine pastures and forests of Chopal.

  • Medicinal Diet: They instinctively graze on a variety of wild medicinal herbs, native shrubs, and seasonal grasses. This "forest-fed" diet infuses their milk with unique phytonutrients and a superior Omega-3 profile.

  • Mountain Spring Water: Our cows drink from the pure, mineral-rich runoff of Himalayan springs, ensuring every drop of milk starts with the cleanest foundation.

Why the Pahari Cow?

The Pahari cow is a small, hardy breed uniquely adapted to high altitudes. Scientifically, they are prized for:

  1. A2 Beta-Casein Protein: Their milk is naturally 100% A2, making it gentle on the stomach and highly absorbable.

  2. The Surya Ketu Nerve: Traditional wisdom holds that the hump of the Pahari cow absorbs solar energy, enhancing the medicinal properties of the milk and giving our ghee its signature golden hue.

Our Commitment to "Organic"

For us, organic is not a certificate; it is a way of life. Since our inception in 2021, we have maintained a strict protocol:

  • No Synthetic Hormones: We never use Oxytocin or growth boosters.

  • No Antibiotics: We rely on traditional Ayurvedic care for our herd.

  • The Bilona Method: Our ghee is never made from cream. We follow the slow, hand-churned Vedic Bilona process—turning whole curd into butter, then into golden ghee.
